"This much fun can be very tiring....!"
There is a multitude of benefits to re-introducing your baby to the water at an early age. At we feel so passionately about this it's hard to curb our enthusiasm:

Physiological
  • Babies are born with a number of reflexes which prove to be stronger and more prolific in the water. Our methods of teaching encourage the stimulation of these reflexes, such as the spinal gallant and the amphibian reflex, to achieve the move from reflexive action to a voluntary action.
  • Muscular development is enhanced by the exercise enjoyed in the water. This work-out doesn't only benefit your baby: Mums, Dads and Grandparents, for that matter, stand to benefit from this weekly exercise!
  • Coordination is improved over time as baby learns to move instinctively in the water.
  • The aerobic exercise benefits baby at a cardio-vascular level, improving heart & lung performance.
  • Sleeping and feeding patterns are often improved by the exercise your classes will provide.
Emotional
  • Bringing your baby into the water, and learning to swim with him / her, floating cheek-to-cheek, progressing to seal dives and enjoying the songs and games will be a uniquely bonding experience for both of you.
  • In the water, babies are not limited in the same way that they are on dry land. Their movements have so much more freedom and they feel an independence and empowerment that can't be matched.
  • Ultimately, giving your baby this early re-introduction to water instils a water-confidence which will be retained throughout adult life. It avoids the fear that some children have of water when introduced at a much later stage of life.
Neurological
  • Language development is encouraged by the interaction your child benefits from with you and also with your instructor.
  • The progressive practices incorporated throughout the programme help to stimulate development.
Social
  • Every week your baby / toddler comes together with the same small group of children, interacting with them from the very earliest age. It is wonderful to observe this interaction as these friendships blossom and they become more actively involved in their own development with songs and games.
  • This is also a fun activity for you, with some real and lasting family friendships developing as a result of this weekly experience.
